Byron Smith joined the SWC race series in 2007 driving a Dodge SRT4. Byron's principal competitive outlet the last 10 years has been in masters alpine ski racing. He has competed frequently in regional, national and international ski racing events in all disciplines all over North America. In 2004, he won the National Speed Series in superG and downhill.
A 1999 graduate of the Bondurant GP program, he has experience in karting, Spec Miata, BMW Club Racing, endurance racing and the SCCA Pro Racing MX5 Cup. He is an instructor at the Miller Motorsports Park High Performance Driving School.
A native of Utah, Byron was born in November 1952 and is married to Connie with four grown children. Byron is a managed health care services consultant and besides auto and ski racing, enjoys gardening, grandchildren and antique motorcycles.
